Atmosphere

A suit and tie are the standard dress throughout the banking industry. However, since much of our work takes place over the telephone or the world-wide-web, we allow our employees a more relaxed, yet still professional, dress code.

This relaxed, yet professional, attitude carries over to our modern office buildings as well. We are continually reinvesting in our infrastructure. Over the last two years, we have invested in new workstations, chairs, computers, monitors, carpeting, and paint. Our workstations are very open with no solid panel “walls” more than 54’ high. We feel that this encourages teamwork, camaraderie, and even a bit of healthy competition among teams.

Recently, we even added a café-style lunch room with free Starbucks coffee, a 2” plasma TV, café tables, lounge chairs, and classical music playing in the background.

Training

Embrace employees are respected for their superior knowledge, great communication skills, and noteworthy capacity to learn, grow, and take on increasing levels of responsibility. To nurture these competencies, all newly hired sales professionals participate in introductory training spearheaded by a consortium of our team leaders, middle managers, and senior professionals.

The cross training curriculum for new sales professionals includes: A comprehensive review of the mortgage banking industry, lending law & its importance, advanced products & programs, best practices, relational sales, intensive software instruction, and much more.

Sessions are offered in the classroom, as well as on the job, by experienced and successful team leaders, managers, and peers

Open-book management

Within every employee’s first week of employment, they are introduced to Embrace’ internal performance and financial documents. Employees can review these documents, from the convenience of their workstation.

In addition, three times per week, a random selection of six employees are invited to breakfast with the company president. The agenda for this hour-long chat is informal, encouraging questions, comments, criticisms, or compliments.

Loyalty

Embrace appreciates the loyalty of its employees. As a demonstration of our appreciation, we honor employees celebrating three, five, eight, ten, fifteen, and twenty year anniversaries during a special breakfast ceremony twice a year. While the celebrants are dining, a slide-show of their accomplishments is shown in the background and gifts are announced.

This year alone, over 60 employees were recognized. Those celebrating 10, 15, or 20 years received customized gifts such as: a kayak, a high-powered laptop, a flat screen television, and a fantasy day at Fenway Park, a trip to Paradise Island in the Bahamas, and a John Deere lawn tractor. In addition, we honor those celebrating eight-plus year anniversaries with a donation to a charity of particular interest to them.

Philanthropy

A significant portion of pre-tax profits are distributed to charity each month. In the past twelve months, we have donated over $5 million to charitable causes. Letters from beneficiaries adorn 20 feet of wall space at the home office.

Besides corporate giving, employees generously give on their own by participating in our Jeans-for-Charity days or by participating in our matching gifts program. Embrace will match up to $2,000 in individual giving each year.

If employees would rather volunteer time than give money, we provide them the opportunity beyond our corporate day of volunteerism. Each employee enjoys 100 hours per year of paid time off for volunteering. In addition, Embrace will donate $10 per hour to each organization for which an employee volunteers.

Fit Camp

We sponsor an on-site exercise program throughout the Fall, Winter, and Spring run by some of the best personal trainers in the area.

Events

In addition, Embrace Home Loans holds special event programs throughout the year including an Annual Meeting, Sales Recognition Banquet, Christmas Party, Charity Drives, Monthly Award Ceremonies and more!
